This section is for everyday internet users, not companies. It does not try to protect servers or databases. It helps you make better decisions about links, messages, passwords, apps and browser settings, which is where most personal harm starts.

From common attacks to things you can do
Security research describes many attacks. Most of them have a simple version that affects ordinary people, and a simple response.
| Attack | What it means for you | What to use |
|---|---|---|
| Fake or hijacked domains (DNS attacks) | A link takes you to a lookalike site. | Suspicious link checker |
| Malicious scripts (XSS) | A site or popup tries to run code or trick you into acting. | Browser security guide, fake warnings guide |
| Cookie and session theft | Someone uses your logged-in session without your password. | Accounts and sessions guide |
| Interception on the network (MITM) | Someone on the same network watches or alters traffic. | Website safety checker, public Wi-Fi guide |
| Sniffing on open Wi-Fi | Unprotected traffic can be read nearby. | Public Wi-Fi guide |
| Malicious mobile apps | An app asks for more access than it needs. | Mobile app safety guide |
| Password guessing (dictionary attacks) | A weak or reused password is cracked or tried on other sites. | Security checkup |
| Phishing and scam messages | A message pressures you into paying or logging in. | Scam and phishing detector |
How these tools work
The link checker, scam detector, app guide and checkup run as rules in your browser. The address, message or answers you enter are not sent to us. We do not collect browsing history or passwords, and we never ask for them. If we add a reputation lookup later it will be optional and clearly labelled.
What an ordinary website cannot do
A website cannot inspect your whole browser, other tabs, your installed apps or your files, and these tools do not pretend to. They are guidance, not antivirus or a guarantee. A "no warning signs found" result means we found nothing suspicious in what you gave us. It does not prove a link, message or app is safe. When in doubt, go to the organisation's official site by typing the address yourself.
